Our Christmas started with our annual tradition -- cutting down our tree!
Since three years ago my co-worder Dreana told me about Richardson farms where you can choose and cut down your own Christmas tree, we have made it our family tradition.

Choosing the saws

On the tractor.

After 20 minutes in the cold wind, we made our mind on this one. It is a Douglas Fir. I always like this type of tree because I like the citrous scent when you rub the needles together.

Down the tree!

Bundle up the tree

Another family tradition! After getting our tree, ornaments, hot coco and cider, we went to KC's cabin for lunch. The first time we stopped there was when Pete's car broken down in a gas station next to KC's. While waiting for the tow truck, we stopped there for lunch. Last summer we were surprised to find out the KC's cabin was very close to Chain O'Lake where we camped. So we decided to revisit after the camping trip. Now it has become one of the must-go places for our annual Christmas tree trip.

voilà!

See the round wooden ornaments in the middle section of the tree? They are the ornaments from the farm. Each year we got one and wrote down our name and the year. There should be three but the photo didn't get the third one.
