Our Prince Boomer has not been very well recently though you cannot tell from his undiminished energy and demeanor. He had an ear infection three weeks ago; then hookworms; then a recurring ear infection. We have been in and out the hospital in the past 2 months. Although we don’t know exactly where and how he got these problems, we have a good guess that might be either from the dog park or when he roamed around with his buddy Mickey in whatever unknown objects on the golf course and a ravine near our house.
So after the weeks of treatment and recurring ear infection, I asked the vet to give him a cone; aka e-Collar; aka cone of shame. Oh, by the way, we just learned that the e-collar’s the full name is Elizabethan collar today.
He was not happy of course. It was a pain to see him knocking into things and him trying his way around. He was afraid of going downstairs or jumping up to our bed or couch. Calum felt very bad and had tears when he hugged Boomer. Pete insisted on sleeping with Boomer so he could comfort our poor puppy. I, being the Mom, diligently administrated all the prescribed medical treatment.
It’s been 3 days and he is getting used to his E-collar. He is back to the usual himself. Even with the cone, he has managed to get dirt on his cone, nose, jumping up and down our bed and couch. Calum started to wrestle with Boomer again. Pete asked Boomer to go back to his own bed. I, being a MOM, still diligently administrate his prescribed medical treatment and wrote down this blog.
