Living in this house for almost 3 years, each day I am still surprising by little thing we found in this house.
Every Spring, the chimney directly behind our master bedroom would start "de de de de de..." at 6:45 am every morning. We thought it wa birds making a nest so we called chinmey guys to take a lool. They didn't find anything so we asked our roof guys to check it. They didn't find anything either so we thought it might be the shutters.
Two weeks ago, it started to "de de de de..." again at 6:45 am. I went outside and saw two birds flying out from the chimney and some little birds extending their heads out from the chimney. I tried to take a picture but it didn't turn out very well.
I told my husband that night and he told me he saw the same thing at morning too. Our neighbors told us that this woodpecker family has been there for generations. Our previous owners tried everything but they still come back every Spring.
Thinking it was the inheritance from this house, ever though I got woken up at 6:45 am every morning in the Spring, I am not mad at them anymore. It was rather sweet to know that they are part of our family and they bring spring to us every year.
