Second time around, I was not getting better.
When Calum started pre-school at the age of 2, I was more nevous than he was.
Ladybird, I still remember the name of his school and I still remember how he walked into his school determinely saying good bye to us.
Rosie started 2-day daycare at the age of 1 year, 4 months, and 20 days.
Bright Horizon, the name of her daycare, will be splitting childcare between my Dad and I.
Unlike her brother, Rosie is very shy with strangers despite her cheerful personality.
Pete went with me for Rosie's big day.
She was shy at first but quickly went to a vacant chair and started to eat breakfast like other kids.
Very observant, she followed what other kids did.
Putting trash to the garbage can.
Washing hands.
Sitting down on the rug to join the reading time.
She smiled until she saw us leaving.
Pete and I decided to drive around the block to see how she was doing through the window.
Her classroom is next to a traffic light where it turned red that forced us to stop.
We didn't expect to see anything, but just at that moment, she turned towards us in the car!
We looked at her, not sure if she saw us, but sure she was crying and walking towards her teacher.
We laughed and comforted each other that she would be all right.
We will have lots of these moments in the years to come.
Bittersweet.
