On June 25, 2011, my friend Jeanne, hosted a babyshower for me and 2baubau.
I knew Jeanne through Orrington School, Calum's school. Her son Sebi and Calum have been good friends since the 2nd grade and our family have become close through playdates, dinners, and film club.
This baby shower is for Orrington Moms with whom I have become friends throughout the years, and the theme of the shower is to make a quilt for 2-baubau.
The idea is that everyone particiated will make a block with blessings or messages for the baby then we will (well, we send it to an expert) make it into a quilt.
The day of shower was beautiful. I made cucumber sandwiches and others brought lemon bars and fruit. Jeanne also had a bottle of champane and lemonade for everyone. It was really lovely.
Besides the moms, I would like Calum's friends to contribute to this project, so Calum would feel that he is welcoming baby as well. However, we decided not to invite kids to the party because once the boys came, it would become a wild playdate and we would never get anything done. So we asked the moms to bring a block home and made with their boys.
Jeanne explained what to do to everyone
Everyone set to work
Kids were not invited to the shower so Calum and I made one at home
Blocks made!

The quilt will be done in mid-July and I will post the complete work then!
I love this present from my friends and Calum's friends. It's the best blessing ever!
Voila! The quilt for 2-baubau!
